Community Governance & Standards

Terms & Conditions

The guidelines, code of conduct, and legal framework governing membership and scholarly engagement in the EconVision network.

Effective Date: August 20, 2026 Scope: Community Members & Platform Users

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the EconVision website (econvision.org), submitting our membership registration form, receiving an EconVision Digital Member Pass, or participating in our LinkedIn and WhatsApp groups, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not register or participate in EconVision community activities.

2. Community Code of Conduct & Academic Integrity

EconVision is dedicated to rigorous, respectful, and evidence-based economic discourse. All participants in our LinkedIn Group, WhatsApp Community, symposia, and comment channels must uphold our core behavioral standards:

  • Respectful Academic Dialogue: Engage in intellectual disagreement with collegiality, humility, and constructive arguments. Focus critique on methodologies, data, and models rather than individuals.
  • Strict Anti-Spam Policy: Unsolicited commercial advertising, affiliate links, financial product promotions, crypto schemes, and repetitive promotional posts are strictly prohibited.
  • Zero Tolerance for Harassment: Hate speech, discriminatory language, personal insults, ad hominem attacks, or intimidation based on race, gender, nationality, religion, or institutional status will result in immediate and permanent expulsion.
  • Scholarly Attribution: Honor intellectual property. Always cite working papers, datasets, preprints, and original authors when referencing empirical findings.

⚖️ Civility Standard: EconVision is an academic sanctuary. Discussions should remain anchored in economic theory, empirical methodology, econometrics, and policy analysis.

3. Membership Eligibility & Access Revocation

Membership in EconVision is a privilege, not an entitlement. We welcome university students, faculty, academic researchers, finance professionals, and policy analysts who share our commitment to economic scholarship.

  • Accurate Registration: You represent and warrant that the information submitted during registration (including your name, role, and institutional affiliation) is accurate and truthful.
  • Right to Revoke: The EconVision Admissions & Moderation Committee reserves the unilateral right to approve, reject, suspend, or permanently revoke any member's access to community groups or events without prior notice if they violate our Code of Conduct.

4. Intellectual Property & User Contributions

Ownership of Research: Any working papers, lecture notes, datasets, articles, or analytical commentary you share within EconVision channels remain the intellectual property of the original author or creator.

License to Host: By posting commentary, summaries, or discussion points in our community forums, you grant EconVision a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, host, and facilitate scholarly discussion around that content within our private and public community channels.

EconVision Brand Assets: The EconVision name, logo, member pass templates, and website designs are protected trademarks and intellectual property of EconVision and may not be repurposed for commercial ventures without express written permission.

5. Academic Commentary & No Financial Advice

All articles, data visualizations, working papers, macroeconomic commentary, and member discussions hosted on the EconVision website, LinkedIn group, or WhatsApp channels are provided strictly for educational, scholarly, and informational purposes.

Nothing published or discussed within EconVision constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or monetary policy advice. Neither EconVision nor its contributors shall be held liable for any decisions made based on information shared within our forums.

6. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

EconVision, its founders, editors, and moderation team operate as a volunteer-driven academic initiative. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • EconVision provides its website and community forums on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
  • EconVision is not responsible for disputes, contractual agreements, or interactions between individual community members.
  • In no event shall EconVision be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your participation in the community.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EconVision and its coordinators from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms.

7. Third-Party Platforms (LinkedIn & WhatsApp)

EconVision utilizes third-party infrastructure (LinkedIn Corporation and Meta Platforms, Inc.) to host community networking. We do not control the uptime, technical availability, or platform algorithms of these third-party services. Members agree to comply with the terms of service of each respective platform.

8. Amendments & Governance Inquiries

EconVision reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued participation in our community following published revisions indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
